GracePointe Summer Festival

OK, the first of the time machine posts takes us back to the summer festival put on by the church adjacent to our neighborhood. Jack and our next-door neighbors' child, Kylie, attended Vacation Bible School a few days this summer, and at the end of the week, there was a big summer celebration to which we were all invited.

It was a great time! They had a little petting zoo (some chickens and a goat, I believe...I've slept since then, so the recollection's a little hazy) some games, food, pony rides, and a huge water slide they built by tacking a Slip-N-Slide to the side of a big hill. They then dumped a bunch of dish soap and water onto it, and let the kids go wild. The unfortunate consequence was that the hill lead down into a ditch, and the kids were sliding off the plastic into a sudsy muckfest - but, thankfully, not into the ditch proper. Besides, they were sliding in soap, so how dirty could they REALLY have been???

Below are some pics of the boys enjoying their evening at the festival.

Jack and Kian on their first pony rides. Now, if you continue to read these recent posts, you're going to notice a very recurrent pattern regarding these hooved beasts and our sons...

Jack and his buddy Grant after a good 10 or 15 slides down the water slide. See...they can't be really all THAT dirty, can they?

Jack and Grant again with the balloons they were given at the end of the night. We had a blast!
