Crockigator. At least that's what Kian calls them. Too cute!

The morning of, we were finishing up the cupcakes. This was a failed attempt on my part to make strawberry icing. Kian did not mind one bit as he rather enjoys licking the beater from the mixer. He was on quite the sugar high all morning. Thank goodness we had lots to do as he ran off the sugar.

Everyone started arriving during his nap time. Here he is with his Uncle Joe getting in a last minute snack.
Lots of presents. He opened the first one and would have been more than happy with stopping there so he could play with it. He finally caught on to the fact that ALL of the presents were for him and he could keep going.

And the long awaited cupcake. We forgot to practice blowing out the candle. We talked about darn near everything else that would go on that day, but failed to do this one. Oh well, he still enjoyed the attention. He even sang to himself. How sweet!
Here's a picture of one of the cupcakes. I made strawberry cupcakes with chocolate syrup icing. YUMMY! We all love them. The icing was literaly the icing on the cake, even though it was a cupcake. Super delicious!

Papaw Hop was so nice to sit with Kian as he ate some birthday cake and ice cream. Oh, and he made sure Kian had ever bit of icing possible. This included letting him stick his finger in the cake prior to it being cut. Sorry Mel! I wasn't sure this was the best idea since we had a 2.5 hour drive back home, but he passed out within 5 minutes. Thankfully he slept the entire trip home. Not a fun drive with all of the storms we encountered.

A silly picture of the girls surrounding the cake. (L to R: Katy, Brooklyn, Mel & Sydney)

We had a great time at your party Mel and look forward to many more.

That's more like it.

Whatever the occasion, we love to have you by our sides sharing each and every moment with us.

So, here's to many more birthdays to come.
Lots of love,
Laura, Jackson & Kian

So, our baby turned 2 today (or, at the time I'm writing this, technically, yesterday). We're learning more and more just what a different - but, of course tremendously special and amazing - person Kian is from his brother. Jack is generally pretty easy-going, follows direction and discipline pretty well. Kian can be a bit more hard-headed and driven about the things he wants to do, even when he fully recognizes mom or dad do not approve. Quite honestly, we sometimes wonder if the boy has a compliant bone in his body. He's also much more of a mama's boy than Jack's proven to be. Kian has to know where Laura is most any moment she's not in his immediate field of vision.

Happy birthday, big boy...your journey's really picking up steam now!
